How to connect to the WiFi of the SFR Box 8 ?

To note. Some former equipment (computers under Windows 7 with Intel) may present incompatibilities with WiFi 6. It is then necessary to update the equipment pilots in question (see step 4). Steps

I identify the name of the network associated with my box

Find the name of your network on the label located under your box.

I select the identified network

Select the WiFi network of your SFR Box 8 in the network & Internet settings of your equipment.

If the network does not appear, go to step 4.

I provide the wifi key corresponding to the network

Enter the WiFi safety key indicated on the label to connect your equipment to the wifi of your box.

I update my Windows pc pilots if I can’t connect to the wifi of my box

Windows PCs, equipped with an intel chip for wifi, may require a Update of Windows drivers to connect to a WiFi box. To benefit from the best performance of your box, perform this update by following one of the methods below. Otherwise, you can deactivate the WiFi 6 of your box. This can be temporarily useful if you cannot yet update.

Method 1 (recommended): Update of your PC drivers

1. Connect your Windows PC in wired on one of the yellow ports (RJ45) of your box.
2. Launch your browser and follow the instructions provided by Intel. Be sure to identify the reference of your WiFi interface.
3. Go to the section Pilots and utilities To download the pilots for the identified interface.
4. Install the drivers and restart your PC.

You can now try a wifi connection.

If this method does not work, you can try the method 2.

Method 2: temporary deactivation of WiFi 6 if you cannot update the drivers

• For the SFR box 8 fiber or very high speed (THD)

1. Connect your Windows PC in wired on one of the yellow ports (RJ45) of your box.
2. Launch your browser and enter the address http: // 192.168.1.1 or http: // monmodem.
3. Do you authenticate. You can also keep the WPS button pressed for 5 seconds.
4. Click on the WiFi section of the interface, to the left of the screen (A).
5. Activate the modifications by clicking on “Edit”, to the right of the screen (B).
6. Disable WiFi 6 mode by clicking on the cursor (C).
7. Save (D).

You can now disconnect your PC and reconnect it in WiFi 5.

It is strongly advised to update the WiFi drivers of your PC, as soon as possible, to be able to reactivate WiFi 6.

• For the SFR Box 8 ADSL

1. Connect your Windows PC in wired on one of the yellow ports (RJ45) of your box.
2. Launch your browser and enter the address http: // 192.168.1.1 or http: // monmodem.
