At the start of the year, already, Tesla had removed almost € 10,000 at the cost of its Model 3 before making it even more affordable a few weeks later. The model price had also been reduced in large proportions, which had not failed to annoy customers of the two models who received their car a few days before.

The drop in the price of Model X is even more spectacular

Well Tesla is remaking us this time for Model S and X. After a few price variations these last months, including a monumental decrease of € 10,000 in April, the American manufacturer strikes even stronger and drops by almost € 12,000 the prices of its large electric family ! Great autonomy model, displayed at € 106,490 a few hours ago, now costs € 94,990. His plaid overpowered declination is now worth € 109,990 without option. For a car of more than 1000 horsepower, it’s almost a gift ..

As for the SUV Model X, it is displayed at € 99,990, a sudden drop of € 13,500 ! Its Plaid version even costs € 114,990 against € 131,990 a few hours earlier. First large series electric car produced by the Californian brand, the Tesla Model S began its marketing in France in 2013. Today declined in two versions, it reaches 652 km of autonomy in a single load.

The history of the Model S

Second electric car launched by Tesla after the first generation of roadster, the Model S has largely contributed to making the brand known to the general public. Revealed in 2019, it has been marketed in the United States since 2012 and in Europe since 2013. Initially launched with a small battery of 60 kWh, the Model S has since stopped evolving.

After a first restyling in 2016, the Californian sedan was presented in early 2021 in a new version including both aesthetic and technical improvements, and a reduced range.

Tesla Model S motorization and performance

The model is displayed fairly impressive performance. It is now available in two large versions:

  • Great autonomy With a Dual Motor all -wheel drive authorizing 250 km/h of maximum speed and a 0 to 100 km/h shot in 3.2 seconds
  • Plaid, A version with three electric motors combining 1020 power horsepower for a 0 to 100 km/h shot in 2.1 seconds and a top speed of 322 km/h. Acceleration could still be improved by its release, according to Elon Musk.

PLAID+ had to garnish the ranks of the range and display an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds, but Elon Musk itself announced its cancellation in June 2021.

Formerly marketed with 60 and 85 kWh packs, the Tesla Model S now offers two impressive capacity packs. Estimated around 100 kWh, the first team Les Versions Grande Autonomie et Plaid and authorizes up to 652 km of autonomy.

The high end Plaid+ had to take a pack displaying a capacity of 120 kWh which would have made it possible to travel 837 kilometers in one load. A value deemed useless by Elon Musk, who considered the 628 km of the sufficient plaid.

Tesla Model S recharge

Tesla deploys a network of ultra-fast charging stations, called superchargers, which allow you to load a model in record time. Free when launching the model, the load on superchargers is now invoiced to users. In France, it costs € 0.36 per kWh consumed.

Since 2019, the Tesla Model S has updated its system and tolerates up to 250 kW of power in the event of the use of third -generation supercomposes. On the other superchargers, the tolerated power amounts to 145 kW. The manufacturer also offers a CCS combo adapter to access other fast terminals.

The interior of the Tesla Model

Since January 2021, the Tesla Model S has benefited from a REFRAICHI interior with half a half-flope Yoke inspired by the Tesla Roadster. It seems that Tesla also continues to produce models with a classic steering wheel. The giant vertical screen of the old version gives way to a horizontal screen. Similar to that embedded on board the Tesla Model 3, it completes 100 % digital instrumentation.

The Tesla Model S and the Autopilot

As standard, the model is incorporated an autopilot function. This allows your vehicle to hold a trajectory, accelerate and brake for you if other vehicles or pedestrians are in its way. Two other paid options are offered.

Improved autopilot – € 3,800

  • Navigation with Autopilot: driving assistance from the insertion route to the highway exit, including the exchangers and to exceed slower vehicles.
  • Auto channel change: track changes are automated on the highway.
  • Auto parking: picking in niche and battle.
  • Auto exit: park your vehicle and automatically get it out of its location.
  • Future : Improved auto output
