Launch of the Opel Corsa

In the early 1980s, Opel wanted to occupy the small city car segment while offering as usual the best quality/price ratio possible. A market dominated by the Renault 5, the Fiat 127, the Peugeot 104, and the Ford Fiesta. The Corsa appeared in 1982.

It comes out of the assembly chains of the ultramodern factory for the time of Zaragoza in Spain. Opel’s Last Little Lines have benefited from computer -aided design and its mounting chains are 90 % automated.

How was the launch of

The Opel Corsa was launched in France, Spain and Italy at the end of 1982 and the following year in the rest of Europe. Two models are offered for sale: a three -door tailgate version and the Corsa TR, a two -door coach with trunk. On the motorization side, the customer has the choice between two 1.2 -liter four -cylinder petrol engines of 55 hp and 1.3 liters of 70 hp (for the GT version).

Essence still cheap does not encourage manufacturers to democratize diesel motorization still reserved for large sedans. From 1987, Opel Relooke the Corsa grille and diversify its offer in terms of motorization: 1.5 -liter diesel engine of 50 hp, 67 hp turbo diesel version and 1.6 liters of 100 hp for the GSI version.

The latter brought the Corsa to the Club of Small Sports people from the 80s and 90s where the 205 GTI and the Golf GTI sits. Series limited to improved finishes and options enhance the basic models and support the interest of an increasingly demanding customers.

In 1990, Opel reshaped the whole front of his Corsa. Second and ultimate restyling of the Corsa A. Since 1982, the little German has managed to make a place in a segment hitherto dominated Peugeot, Renault and Volkswagen. Designed for urban use, the small Opel displays the comfort and endurance necessary for larger journeys. The Corsa finds a wider audience than what its designers had initially considered.

All specificities of

Produced from 2006, this diesel model is certainly one of the most successful. User reviews are unanimous on its road qualities, habitability and flexibility of its gearbox.

The Opel Corsa 1.4,90 hp design 120 years (Corsa e 5th generation)

Diagnosis of L

A powerful but relatively sober petrol model with an average consumption of 5.6 liters per 100 km produced from November 1, 2018 to July 1, 2019.

Its users acclaim its level of equipment, its 7 -inch multimedia system and its parking aid radar system. They regret its still high level of carbon emission (127 g/km), the insufficiency of the sound insulation of the passenger compartment and a slightly high turning radius.

  • Modern multimedia system, parking aid radar, well equipped.
  • Do not fail enough, a little isolated interior of road noises, high carbon emission rate.

The Opel Corsa 1.2 turbo 130 hp BVA8 GS LINE (Corsa F 6th generation)

Details on L

A latest generation petrol model in production since July 1, 2019. Its users highlight its sporting lines, its exceptional sobriety (4.5 liters per 100 km), its low CO² emission level (103 g/km).

User opinions highlight somewhat hard shock absorbers, somewhat low -end materials and lack of space for passengers at the rear. Nothing which however impacts the reliability of the vehicle.

  • Little consumes, low CO² emission, beautiful lines.
  • hard shock absorbers, sometimes low quality of interior materials, narrow rear bench.

What are the existing models ?

What are the existing models of

Since 2019, Opel has been selling the Corsa F, the sixth generation of this regularly redesigned car, re -equipped and remotorized. This new generation was all the more awaited that it is the first designed on a Peugeot base.

The Corsa F was indeed built on the CMP platform of the PSA group already used for the 208 or the DS3 Crossback. But which model to choose from the versions currently offered ? A quality range without known problems. Review of the three models of Opel Corsa Current Chouchous of customer opinions reviewed by the editors of this guide:

Opel Corsa 1,2 Turbo 100 GS Line

Special features of

The CMP chassis hosts a 5 -door body also inspired by the 208. Its soft lines nevertheless make up a very attractive sporty look. On this model, the engine 1.2 Pure Tech of Peugeot, a 3-cylinder 130 hp of very high reliability, offers a good power for an urban consumption of 5.4 liters, extra-urban 4 liters and average of 4.5 liters per 100 km.

The most efficient model in the current Corsa range. The exclusively automatic box gives a lot of dynamism. The basic options include a 7 -inch screen, manual air conditioning, electric rear windows, sport front seats, a sport driving mode and a sport pedal.

The black pavilion sky, the sport line pack, 16 -inch alloy rims and full led led lights and back lights and rear lights. Automatic air conditioning, headlights and automatic wipers, door opening and keyless start, integrated GPS (other than Android Auto or Apple Car) are optional. Recommended review interval: 15.000 km.

Opel Corsa 1,2 Turbo 75 Edition

All about Opel Corsa 1.2 Turbo 75 Edition

The CMP chassis welcomes the elegant 5 -door body of the Sixth Generation Corsa. The engine 1.2 pure tech, a 3 -cylinder 75 hp of very high reliability, will delight users in the city. Its sobriety is exceptional: 4.8 liters in urban, 3.7 liters in extra-urban and average of 4 liters per 100 km.

This model favors driving comfort with pure performance ! The Edition series includes a touch screen, limiter and cruise control, Start and Stop system and manual air conditioning. Opel offers many options: 7 -inch screen, visibility pack and vision pack, 16 -inch rim, fixed panoramic roof and different interior configurations. Recommended review interval: 15.000 km.

Opel Corsa-e Edition (electric)

What are the characteristics of

Opel has just launched a 100 % electric Corsa model. Based on the Platform-E-CMP, the Corsa-E hosts an electric block of 100 kW (136 hp) very reliability. The zero carbon emission cars displays thanks to its lithium-ion battery a beautiful autonomy between 329 and 337 km !

By far the most efficient Corsa model in town with exceptional driving comfort and big energy savings. Complete recharging is made in 6:30 am.

The Edition version includes 16 -inch steel rims, a multifunction steering wheel, a 7 -inch touch screen, automatic air conditioning, the visibility pack, the Drive Assist pack and the OPEL Emergency Module. Optional the 11 kW charger lowers the charging time at 4:30 am. Recommended review interval: 30.000 km.

Failures or insufficiencies noted

List of failures D

The reliability of the Opel Corsa is undeniable: the list of dealerships in recent years is quite short. The reminders listed concerned the hood locking system, a problem of composition of the airbag firewall device and a risk of fissure of the steering case.

Overall the sixth generation of the CORSA is with regard to user reviews a success. Current models do not suffer from serious defects or problems requiring reminders for urgent revision. A reassuring observation ! True to its reputation, the brand at lightning has retained its reliability by integrating the PSA group.

We will nevertheless regret on the thermal models an insufficient sound soundproofing of the passenger compartment. It seems that this known problem, already present in the first generations of the 1980s, is part of the CORSA DNA: an insufficiency that could have been revised over time !

Please note the 17 -inch night wheels night significantly at low speed driving comfort. Nothing serious but sufficiently perceptible to be underlined. Correct the habitability remains not very generous for the passengers of the rear seats and the volume of the insufficient trunk compared to what a Renault Clio or a Volkswagen Polo offers.

If reliability and quality are on the presentation, the presentation remains basic especially when compared to its French cousin the Peugeot 208. The generalized use of hard plastic is not always the best taste ! The optional placement of certain equipment in certain fairly expensive versions is also in our opinion regrettable.

Above 20.000 euros, the buyer is entitled to expect, for example, automatic air conditioning. Verdict for this Corsa 6: Good reliability because absence of known adherently adapted problems but sometimes surprising options in terms of equipment.
