What is the safety level of the smart lock ?

Nuki uses advanced encryption mechanisms such as those in the online banking sector. Communication with the Smart Lock is ensured via end -to -end encryption. In addition, we regularly control and certify our smart lock by independent computer security institutes. In 2021, the Nuki Smart Lock was again awarded by Av-Test the “Secure Smart Home Product” certificate.

How to know if the Nuki Smart Lock is compatible with my door ?

With our compatibility test, check if your door lock is compatible with Nuki. The smart lock is fitted or sticks to the cylinder already in place, on the interior side of the door. The two variants are removed without leaving traces, which makes them also ideal for rental apartments.

As your smart lock sets up on the inner side of your door, no one can see from the outside that you use an electronic lock. The use of a smart lock has no impact on your insurance coverage.

What to do without a smartphone or if the batteries are empty ?

• You simply use your existing mechanical key if your lock has an emergency function.
• You ask another person with an access authorization to open your door. If you have a Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 pro or a Nuki Bridge for your Nuki Smart Lock 3.0, it also works remotely.
• The Nuki Keypad or the Nuki Fob are a good alternative to simply and quickly open the front door without a smartphone or traditional key.

What happens when the disposable or rechargeable batteries of my smart lock are empty ?

When there is only about 20 % of autonomy, Nuki informs you with the Nuki App and directly on the Smart Lock that the batteries are soon empty. You have enough time to replace disposable batteries with new or recharge the rechargeable batteries of the Nuki Power Pack. You can continue to lock and unlock your door outside if your cylinder has an emergency or priority function, that is to say that you can lock and unlock the door from the outside even if a key found inside.
