It is the arrival of an Austrian businessman in love with cars, Emil Jellinek, who will change the course of things. It was a bicylinder capable of reaching 24 km/h . But it was not enough, Jellinek wanted a car that could run at 40 km/h. Two four cylinders Daimler Phoenix were delivered to him in 1898.

War and its consequences quickly played the spoilsport. With the crisis that followed, the two manufacturers experienced a difficult period and it was necessary to find a solution to reconnect with success. Only a merger would put the two companies on foot and it was in 1926 that Mercedes-Benz was born . The company’s logo was to represent the two entities and it is a certain three -pointed star (logo deposited by Daimler in 1903) enhanced with a circle lined with laurels and bearing the inscription Mercedes Benz which was retained. Replaced later by a single three -pointed star surrounded by a circle. This emblem always proudly sits on all productions of the brand.
