Acrobat new features

Installation of updates for Acrobat and Reader

Adobe recommends that users make an update to the latest version to take advantage of safety and stability improvements. Updates can be installed as indicated below.

Automatic update from the product

To install Adobe Reader and Acrobat updates, proceed as follows:

  1. Launch Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
  2. Choose Help> Search updates.
  3. Follow the steps in the update utility window to download and install the latest updates.

Adobe Reader update from the web

  1. Open Reader and choose Help> About Adobe Reader. Lift the version of your product.
  2. Access the Adobe Reader downloads page. The web page automatically detects your operating system and your Reader version.
  3. If the web page indicates that a more recent version is available, select Install now.
  4. Click the downloaded file and follow the instructions.

Manual update of Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat

The installation programs of all supported products are also in the products to download products (except for the full acrobat version). You can manually download and install these products as follows:

  1. Open the product.
  2. Choose Help> About Acrobat Or Adobe Reader.
  3. Note the version.
  4. Close.
  5. If the most recent version is not installed, download the installation program required from the following locations:
  • Complete update and update utilities Adobe Acrobat Reader for Windows and MacOS
  • Adobe Acrobat updates for Windows and MacOS
  1. Click on the installation program to download it. Once the download is finished, double-click the downloaded file and follow the screen instructions to complete the process.

Acrobat new features


The complete Acrobat Pro PDF solution with online services allows you to work on your most important documents from workstations, mobile or online devices. Update your Acrobat work and mobile job applications or connect to Acrobat online to discover the new features and improvements.

To immediately discover the new features, update your Acrobat application: in the menu Help, select Search updates and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the update process.

Acrobat allows you to share your file using third -party applications such as Microsoft® Outlook, Gmail Microsoft® Teams and WhatsApp. You can share a file in one of the following ways:

  • Use the WORKFLOW Invite to enter the email addresses of the recipients to whom you want to share the file.
  • Select Microsoft® Outlook, Gmail, Microsoft® Teams or WhatsApp to share the link with recipients.
  • Send a link or attach the file to an email.

Sharing of link with other people

Creation of secure and shareable PDF links with access authorizations

When you share a link to your PDF file with other users, you can apply integrated predefined parameters to define public, private or business access authorizations. If a recipient does not have access to the file, he may ask you.

  • Private links Only guest employees can access the shared PDF file link.
  • Organizational links Anyone in the organization can access the shared PDF file via the link.
  • Public links Anyone with access to the link can consult the shared PDF file. This option is useful for sharing with a large audience and does not require that the recipients connect.
  • Request access If a recipient wishes to access a private shared document, he may request access. The owner of the document is informed of receipt of new requests, and may decide to grant or refuse access, while maintaining total control over the accessibility of the document.

Business administrators can manage user access via Adobe Admin Console. These parameters will remain unchanged, whatever the access controls you have configured in Acrobat.
