New subscribers to the Freebox Delta can now enjoy a more substantial choice in Netflix packages offered. Indeed, the operator has just added the standard formula to the list with pub. What prepare the ground before the disappearance of the Netflix Essential offer ?

For several years now, Free has included in its offers Freebox Delta a subscription to Netflix. So far, users could opt for three separate formulas, namely:

• Essential Netflix: 1 screen both in HD definition, included without additional and without commitment
• Netflix Standard: 2 screens both in Full HD definition, +4.5 € per month and without commitment
• Netflix Premium: 4 screens both in 4K definition, + € 9 per month and without commitment

Now and thanks to a tweet published by @cremechocos, we have just learned the addition of an additional formula. Indeed, new subscribers to the Freebox Delta can now set their sights on another Netflix offer at no cost: the recent standard formula with Pub.

Netflix with ads, but for two screens and full HD

At first glance, one could wonder about the interest of opting for this formula with advertisements. Nevertheless, it would be to forget the different advantages that it offers. Indeed, to compensate for the appearance of pubs at the beginning, during or at the end of your series/film, this offer allows to access two screens at the same time, all in full HD and at no additional cost.

As said above, the essential Netflix allows you to enjoy a single screen in 720p (without advertisements). For the moment, the former subscribers to the Freebox Delta cannot yet opt ​​for the standard Netflix with pubs. Nevertheless, you have to hope that this is soon the case. For good reason, users subscribed to the classic standard offer (which is billed at an additional € 4.5 per month) could be seduced by this formula to save money.

A way for free to increase your margin ?

Recall that the standard offer with pubs was launched in November 2022 by Netflix, while the streaming platform is gradually starting to remove the essential offer in different countries of the world. This is particularly the case in Canada. De facto, it is likely that Netflix asked Free to integrate this formula in anticipation of the outright disappearance of the essential subscription.

Other hypothesis, Free knows that Netflix intends to delete the essential offer. In fact, the operator prepares the land for Offer only the standard formula with ad as a free subscription. Result, so as not to have advertisements, users will necessarily have to turn to standard or premium Netflix offers, which both require the payment of a supplement. What increase the operator’s margin.

Since last May, Free has allowed its Freebox Revolution, Mini 4K and Pop subscribers to subscribe to the AVOD offer of Netflix with advertising and enjoying it via their player. This solution has so far been not offered with the Freebox Delta since the latter already included Netflix Essential.

But Free has just changed this situation. From now on, when registering for the Freebox Delta offer, the subscriber has the choice between Netflix Essential which allows access to the service on 1 screen and in HD or Netflix Standard with pub, which allows access to the service on 2 screens and in Full HD. The latter formula is usually billed at € 5.99, but it is of course included without additional cost with the subscription to the Freebox Delta. This possibility is currently only offered to new Freebox Delta subscribers, when registering for the latter, but one can imagine that it could also be offered to current subscribers to migrate to Netflix Standard with Pub.

As a reminder, launched last November in France, the “essential with ad” offer, renamed “Standard with pub” recently, allows access to a large part of the Netflix catalog at a more affordable rate in exchange for viewing advertising advertising.
