Canva, PowerPoint: How to use these tools to make your own creations?

In a world where an image is worth a thousand words, it is both essential to be able to quickly create visuals to communicate on your digital channels (website, social networks), but also to present your projects and/or your activity effectively. Canva and PowerPoint are there for that.

Canva, to easily create (and free) quality visuals

You would like to be able to enhance your social networks with attractive visuals but you have little or little graphics skills ? No matter: with Canva, you will be able to create as much as you want, and this in just a few clicks.

Concretely, after having created an account (to do this, click on ” register “At the right to right on your screen), all you have to do is explore the content available before changing them at your will.

First of all, click on the button ” Create a design »». In the drop -down menu that appears, choose the category that interests you (logo, poster, Instagram publication, flyer, photo assembly, etc.) then, after having spotted the model that suits you, slide it in the workspace. Then modify or add texts or images as you see fit.

Once your visual is finished, you can share it or download it by clicking on the buttons at the top of the page. Your file will be by default in PDF format, ideal for online sharing.

PowerPoint, to easily create dynamic presentations

You want to present your new products to a distributor ? You want to explain your new project to your financial partners or detail your employees an innovative marketing action plan ? PowerPoint, which is part of the Microsoft Office office suite, can help you.

This software makes it possible to make presentations in the form of slides. It is possible to integrate texts, images, animations, tables or even graphics. The principle: scrolling the slides during your pitch.

And there again, no need to be an IT expert to make effective presentations. If it is impossible to detail all the possibilities offered by the software in a few lines, know that to add a new slide, just click on the tab ” New slide »Then make your choice from the proposed models.

Then, it’s up to you to see what want to integrate: a simple text, a table, a graphic, an image, a video, etc. To do this, two options: either click on ” Insertion “And choose what type of item insert, just slide an image or video from your computer to PowerPoint to include it at your presentation.

Thereafter, you can reduce or enlarge the size of the elements, change the order of slides or choose a graphic theme to improve the rendering of your slide (click on the tab ” Creation »Then select a theme from the list).

Regarding the change of slide, click on ” Transitions And choose a transition (unfolding, melted appearance, turned page effect, etc.) in the list.

Once your presentation is finished, save it. To launch it, click on the tab ” Slideshow ” Then ” From the start »». Use the high and low arrows to scroll the slides and press “escape” to leave.

You will see: with a little practice, you will quickly manage to create quality presentations.

Canva is an alternative to the traditional PowerPoint presentation. This tool makes it possible to make presentations but also a C.V. or the layout of documents for example.

  1. To start, create an account on Canva. In the settings (the wheel at the top right), there is the possibility of changing the tongue of Canva to French.
  2. Then, you can start preparing the presentation by selecting “Create a design” and entering a keyword (for example “oral presentation”).
  3. On the left of the screen appears a functional bar that will allow you to create your presentation. Here is a description:

  1. Once the presentation is finished, you can either directly project it on the screen by clicking on “Present” or press “Download” and choose the export format (standard PDF recommended). With this last option, you can also select the pages you want to download or not.

Practical advice on the use of this tool

  • The presentation can be shared with other users and users. To do this, you must select “Share” to send an invitation link. It is also possible to put comments to other users and users thanks to the tool to the right of the screen.
  • The “animated” tool in the top bar gives the possibility of selecting transitions between the Slides of the presentation. You can also choose the duration of this transition.
  • A large part of the elements, photos and designs canva are free but some require a premium account. So be careful not to select the items that have filled or a crown if you do not want to pay when exporting the presentation !
