How to broadcast live via Facebook:

Attention : you must use the GOPRO application to configure live broadcasting. You cannot configure live broadcasting directly on your GoPro.

  1. Open the Gopro application and select Lively In preview mode.
  2. Press on Configure.
  3. Connect your Facebook account and approve the authorizations.
  4. Connect to a Wi-Fi network or to your personal access point.

Attention : your camera must be connected to a Wi-Fi network or to a personal access point for broadcasting.

  1. Choose your sharing settings (public, friends, me only).
  2. Choose a title and write a brief description.
  3. Choose the resolution of your choice: 480p, 720p or 1080p (1080p valid only with the Gopro Hero8 Black)

Pro tip : if you leave the resolution to 720p, we will adjust to a lower resolution automatically if the signal weakens.

  1. Choose your recording settings (you can save a high resolution version of your diffusion on your SD card).

Pro tip : frame your shooting and make sure your camera is in a vertical position before diffusion. If you put your camera upside down, your images broadcast live will appear upside down.

  1. Press on Throw or on the shutter button to launch live broadcasting.
  2. Go to the Facebook application to see your statistics and check your broadcast.

How to broadcast live via YouTube:

Note: It is important to create your YouTube channel before you can broadcast your live video.

  1. Open the Gopro application and select Live in preview mode.
  2. Press the Facebook icon to change platform and select YouTube.
  3. Press Configure live.
  4. Connect your YouTube account and approve the authorizations.
  5. Connect to a Wi-Fi network or to your personal access point.

Attention : your camera must be connected to a Wi-Fi network or to a personal access point for broadcasting.

  1. Choose your sharing settings (public).
  2. Choose a title and write a brief description.
  3. Choose your location.
  4. Choose your prefered resolution: 480p, 720p or 1080p (1080p only available with hero8 black).
  5. Choose your recording settings (you can save a high resolution version of your diffusion on your SD card).

How to broadcast live via an RTMP URL:

Attention : The following sites are not currently supported for live gopro broadcast: Instagram, YY, NOW, QQ

  1. Go to your live broadcasting platform.
  2. Follow their instructions to create a RTMP or RTMP URL combined with your name or flow key (click on display to see it). The two lines must be combined in one with the ” /” character in the middle.

Attention : live broadcast currently supports URL RTMP and RTMPS only. URL RTSP, HLS and others are not supported.

  1. Return to the Gopro app and select Live in preview mode.
  2. Press the Facebook icon to change platform and select another.
  3. Press Configure and Enter or Paste your URL in the required field.
  4. Choose your prefered resolution: 480p, 720p or 1080p (1080p only available with hero8 black).
  5. Choose your recording settings (you can save a high resolution version of your diffusion on your SD card).

Pro tip : for some live broadcast platforms, you can activate a persistent key that allows you to use the same RTMP/RTMP URL each time you diffuse. If you don’t use a persistent key, you will need a new URL every time.

  1. Press Launch or on the shutter button to launch live broadcasting.
