What is the frequency of the GPU ?
Synonymous with GPU speed, GPU frequency indicates the speed to which graphical processor cores (GPU) work. The function of these hearts is to generate the graphics. Therefore, the higher the frequency of the GPU, the faster the treatment will be.
Speed is measured in megahertz (MHz), an MHz being equal to a million hertz. As with the total cup frequency of a CPU, the frequency of a GPU results in the number of treatment cycles per second that can be executed by the graphics processor.
Although speed is not the only element to influence the performance of a GPU, a rapid GPU is particularly appreciated by people who play video games, who publish images or do any other activity that relates to treatment of ‘picture. To get better performance, some users opt for overclocking, a process which consists in turning the GPU (or a CPU) faster than the speed established by the manufacturer.
GPU frequency is one of the most important features to take into account for choosing a graphics card for your computer, especially if you like video games or other gourmet graphics activities.
