The Volkswagen ID concept.2 All prefigures the ID.2 which will be launched in 2025. at an aggressive price.

Two years before the launch of series production, the Volkswagen ID.2 is revealed, or rather the concept that announces its style and its specificity, called Id. 2all. The car revealed by the manufacturer, however, has much of a prototype: the lines have nothing extravagant, on the contrary, and even the cabin allows itself no fantasy.

We can therefore be almost certain that the final version will be very close to what has seen it today, which launches a different design from the ID range from Volkswagen, and which will be inspired by its next model. ID. 2all therefore embodies the electric future of Wolfsburg, that Volkswagen wants as affordable as possible: the objective is to market it at a basic price below 25,000 euros.

Volkswagen ID. 2all is launching a new design

“Stability, sympathy and enthusiasm” : these are the three pillars on which will be based on future Volkswagen, according to Andreas Mindt, recently appointed design manager. In fact, this translates with a Volkswagen ID. 2all very different from the ID.3 and the rest of the brand’s electric vehicles.

The forms recall more those of the polo shirt and, as expected, move away as much as possible from those of the ID.LIFE, concept presented at the 2021 Munich Salon which was to anticipate the style of the ID.2 series. It will ultimately not be.

It is precisely the small polo shirt that the ID. 2all holds its dimensions, with its four meters long. Design is more conventional and moves away from the curves of the ID.3. Indeed, the veins of the hood and the flanks are much more marked, starting with the grille, dominated by the light signature, with LEDs over the entire length to create a set reminiscent of the “scowling” design of the Golf.

The new electric Volkswagen also takes up the design of the first generation Golf’s rear amount, making a link with the past.

Like the front, the rear is also very recognizable thanks to the light signature which crosses the whole width, logo included.

If, outside, the Volkswagen ID.2 All makes some references to the thermal models of the brand, the interior makes a clean table with the past. The design is minimal, as the current trend wants, with a central screen (12.9 inches) and a digital dashboard (10.9 inches) which seem almost placed on the board.

But there too, the references to the past are present: among many looks are offered for the menus, one of them recalls the style of the Volkswagen of the 1970s.

Under the infotainment screen, endowed by the new version of VW software, there is a physical wheel to manage audio volume and controls-which we do not know if they are physical or haptic-for air conditioning. A notable change compared to what we find today.

The steering wheel is also minimal, with branches that are not connected to the center. There are two large models – which very much recall the Skoda – and very few pimples. Maybe a large part of the orders will be accessible via the voice assistant. Or maybe the serial model will have a different design.

The interior also has a clear design and is characted by a high-quality appearance, a self-exploitation infotainment system with classic volume control and a separate air conditioning block. The storage volume is a generous 490 to 1.330 liters, a value exceeding that of high vehicle classes.

Accelerated Electric Offensive: Ten New Electric Models by 2026

The production version of the id. 2all is one of ten new electric models that will be launched by volkswagen by 2026. This Year Alone Sees the Introduction of the New Id.3, The ID.
