Your 11 Volkswagen ID reviews.3

On 07/28/2023, I wanted to use the ionity terminals (fast charger), initially 25% load (ideal time). I remain in power at less than 60 kW. The VW agency gives me as an answer that for VW we are in charge fast from 0 to 40%, then gradual decrease. I have never seen (14mn) a power> 60 kW. Essay on another Ionity terminal (5mn) < 58 kw, 3 bornes (1heure après) (3mn) < 49kw. Constatez vous les mêmes puissances?

Frankly top as a vehicle, handy, little consumes, it just has the necessary options (adaptive Cruise Control, Apple Carplay, panoramic roof). She has the last update I did not see any defect at this stage. Excellent vehicle for the city compared to its size, the interior comfort is top: spacious and possible opening of the rear seats 1/3, 2/3. Excellent value.

Apparently the various corrections and updates operated by the brand since the launch of the model have not been enough to solve all the problems. Bought in November 2022, I have the impression that my ID.3 spends more time at the concession than on the road. Repeated electronic breakdowns, a curled dashboard and above all a load power 50% lower than the data promised by the manufacturer. For a big roller like me, it is frankly and extremely penalizing. (20,000 km in 7 months). The brand announces a 120 kWh load power between 20 and 80% of the battery, I have never exceeded 60 kWh of power . And again the average is more between 40 and 50 kWh. Enormously disappointed by this expensive purchase both for the quality of the interior materials and the reliability . I study the possibility of using my legal assistance to put Volkswagen in the face of his responsibilities and find a solution because it is out of the question that I continue with this vehicle. Note all the same that the concession where I bought the vehicle is understanding and benevolent . and fortunately.

For more and a half years, my ID3 has undergone repeated electronic failures and I have already called on the assistance for towing on. With each workshop return, the faults come back some time after. There is a big lack of consideration from Volkswagen for their customers. The impression that is given is to leave the customer with their problems and pay for a car that is not worth it. It’s a shame because it is a car pleasant to drive when it has no problem.

Very good electric car for long journeys: the road behavior is very pleasant, the car and comfortable and the load is going well (110kW when you are ~ 20% remaining load). 1000 km to cross France this weekend with the children, everything went well. Recharge on ionity and tesla superchargers mainly. The 20min breaks every 2 hours to load are a good thing for the driver too.

I have an ID3 since December 2020 and the latter passes are time in the garage. It’s been 9 months since I have it and it was already 6 times in the garage for a number of more or less dangerous problems. And I will soon have to bring her a 7th time, because the problems continue … I had to contact the assistance 2 times who sent me a convenience store. Volkswagen has released a vehicle far from being functional with a lot of bugs … Each pass in dealerships are told: ” We will make an update that will solve all your problems ” or even better ” The brand is current of your problems but has no solution to bring you for the moment. We will have to be patient and wait for the next updates … ’’ (I have been patient for 9 months). In the end, updates have only resolved a very small part of my problems. A large number of persisters. In addition to this having had a lot of concerns with the functionality of reading panels and the adaptation of the speed to the panels read, the concession did not find any other solution than to tell me that it was not so much And that they deactivated it to me, do not advise me to reactivate it and that they deactivate it by default now on all the ID3s they sell (difficult to believe it knowing that I went to see another Volkswagen dealer Who told me that this feature was working pretty well …). So I end up with a vehicle deprived of some of its features.

Delivery on January 5, 2021 with 1 month and a half late. At the end of February, VW announces a compensation of € 400 for delay: early July, still no compensation. February: 4 -week immobilization at the workshop for BUG Informatique. At the end of June: alert message “24 V power defect . See you at the workshop “. Workshop response “Nothing serious. It is the car that self-test ” . 10 days later, always even message. Next immobilization of several days scheduled for a week! For a first experience at VW, I am very disappointed and have no confidence in VW. VW customer service does not know that responding to polite formulas without any concrete action!

Frankly this car is simply great! It is comfortable (seat of the seats and appreciable height without being like in a too high SUV) and very practical with its interior volume (and I have two children with car seats and I take the umbrella bed, the stroller, the stroller, Scooter and accessories, baby bag, etc!)). It is appreciable on the road due to its 0-100 power in 7.3 in 204ch version, it is almost as much as some sports thermal but it is also much more regular. Indeed the electric motor gives all its power from the start and in a linear manner which is not possible with most thermal with manual gearbox. Even on a properly staged automatic gear sedan we sens speed passages here nothing, it’s just perfect! It also holds the road at high speed very well in the turn despite whether it is propulsion. In terms of options, I took everything that existed heat pump to save the battery on winter, bike hitch, rims, etc. There are indeed fewer options than on thermal but I will tell you most of them are useless except to spend your money unnecessarily!

VW has he corrected his DC load problem ? Announced for 100kW, and after several round trips with the support, none could give me the 30 min warranty to go from 20% to 80%. I tried Ionity, abroad, Nada. The Peak Max Fur of 71kW on a functional 125kW terminal for 2 minutes then the power collapses at 45 kW, or no longer 30 min. VW died after having assembled my vehicle for 1 week and not having found a solution. So friends of the fast charge, beware. Unless you like to stay an hour by the highway to count the trucks 🙂

I just read the comment of a user and it’s scary! For my part I had no problem thank you! I am rather satisfied with this purchase. Some small faults but more qualities! Good autonomy and super road behavior without talking about stunning accelerations! A lot of sympathetic driving aids but a little gadget..Bought cheaper thanks to ecological aid

Starting point for a new electrical strategy that Volkswagen intends to build, ID.3 is well installed on the market. With its 420 km of autonomy, its 204 hp and especially its jovial boil, this electric compact has attractive arguments.

Presentation

If Volkswage ID.3 is not the manufacturer’s first electric car, it is in any case the electric first of Wolfsburg thought as such. With its MODULATE MEB platform, it carries the ambition “Volkswagen Way to Zero” in its discomforts supposed to lead the manufacturer to a total reduction in carbon emissions to the exhaust in 2050. Until then, the manufacturer has set a reduction in emissions by 30 % for 2025, a goal he intends to achieve with his new ID range.

On the program of our test rejoicing therefore, our ID.3 Pro Performance is armed with a 150 kW electric motor (204 hp and 310 Nm of torque) and a 58 kWh battery. The announced autonomy is 420 km. The price excluding option and off -signing is 39,880 €. This version is inserted between the IDs.3 pure performance (45 kWh and 150 hp battery) displayed at € 34,750, ID.3 pro (58 kWh and 140 hp) displayed at € 38,380 and the ID.3 pro S (77 kWh and 204 hp) offered at € 43,710.
The range is enriched in addition to assistance, comfort, design, infotainement and sport options to configure its ID.3 at envy.

Volkswagen ID.3 presents itself as an electric compact of the C segment. Our test model will have in front of it the Nissan Leaf, the Citroën Ë-C4, the Hyundai Ioniq Electric, but also the Kia E-Niro and the Future MEGANE Electric.

Ergonomics and design

Appeared for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2019, the ID.3 was long in coming and the COVVI-19 crisis did not help the manufacturer. Nevertheless his line does not carry the stigma of these two years of waiting. If its resemblance to the golf is obvious, the ID.3 is still 2 cm wider, 7.7 cm higher and above all its wheelbase is 15.1 cm longer. But the comparison does not stop at these dimensions since the ID.3 has the particularity of being an electric compact, and it is not so common as that, at a time when the SUV reign supreme. Suddenly, you do not go unnoticed with the ID.3: its angular lines at the back and in profile give it a dynamic silhouette, while the front displays a somewhat jovial personality with an almost smiling facies. Besides, approaching the car with the Keyless Aecess, the car wink to greet its driver and the headlights play a funny fun score. The overall aesthetic bias is certainly divisive, but it is distinguished from the competition.

Inside, the observation is identical: its generous wheelbase and its monovolume body allow it to accommodate two passengers with the back, thanks in particular to a space with legs equal to that of a golf course, yet longer. Be careful, however, at the height under pavilion for more than 1.80 m. But it is especially at the front that the feeling of space is more blatant with a very refined design of the dashboard and the absence of an imposing central console or a tunnel of transmission tunnel.

The trunk disappoints a little due to a fairly high door threshold which does not facilitate loading, but the volume remains consistent and displays 385 l under tablet, 5 l more than the golf course and especially 1267 l when the seats are folder. This is even better than her big sister since she is satisfied with 1237 L. On the other hand, the floor floor is not flat once the bench folds.

The playful aspect of the Volkswagen ID.3 is also found at the dashboard with a two-tone color and above all a futuristic drawing which can confuse the most reluctant to all-tactile. Indeed, even the rear window controls require pressing a Rear button and then opening the latter with the same commands. It can quickly become painful. Ditto for setting the air conditioning or volume that requires playing with the tactile keys on the central screen. We knew more intuitive. However, it must be admitted that we end up getting used to it and that the haptic return of steering wheel controls, which allow for example to control driving or audio aids, reacts instantly.

In the same way, the rotary control of gear lever is united with the instrument handset, and the controls are mounted “upside down” of what is commonly found: you have to push out to activate the Drive command and pull the command to you to access the reverse. There too we can be a little lost at the beginning, but that does not disrupt driving, except on the first rounds of wheels.

Finally, if the assemblies are impeccable and in a all Germanic tradition, the abusive use of hard plastic on the central and low parts is disappointing on a model at this price. It’s frankly a shame.
