Livebox Play decoder: install

Do not use the wearing of your livebox reserved for the connection of the fiber optics, the red on the Livebox Play, or the one indicated 5 on the Livebox 4, or the fourth on the Livebox 5.

UHD TV decoder: Install Ethernet for the first time

You have chosen to install your UHD TV decoder in Ethernet. Here is the procedure to connect it and put orange TV into service.

Set up the decoder

Before you start

You must have a Livebox Play, a Livebox 4 or a Livebox 5.

Connect the decoder to the livebox

Ideally, it is better to favor an electrical connection of your livebox and your decoder on two distinct electrical duties.
If the configuration of your electrical installation does not allow it and requires the use of a multi-press, we advise you to electrically connect your Livebox to the first socket (the closest to the wall outlet) and your decoder on the second.
We also advise you not to electrically connect other equipment to this same multi-press, in order to limit the potential electro-magnetic interferences which could influence the quality of your services.

  • Connect one end of the Ethernet cable supplied to the socket Livebox Located at the back of the decoder.
  • Connect the other end of the cable to the port 1, 2, 3 Or 4 of your livebox.

The UHD TV decoder does not need TV access card to work.

Your decoder is incompatible with a Livebox 2.

Connect your decoder to your TV

  • Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the socket Hdmi Located at the back of the TV decoder.
  • Connect the other end to the HDMI socket of your HD TV.

Connect the decoder to your hertzian antenna

  • Disconnect the antenna cable from your TV.
  • Connect it to the plug Tnt Located at the back of the TV decoder.

This connection allows you to receive the channels by TNT and is not compulsory.

Connect the power supply block

Connect the decoder to an electrical outlet, if possible different from your other devices (Livebox, TV. ) to avoid problems due to electric short circuits.

Your orange TV decoder is connected, you can now put orange TV into service.

It is normal for your UHD TV decoder to be hot in operation.
Without fan your decoder is completely silent, and the heat produced is diffused on its surface.
In the event of abnormal overheating, the decoder will automatically stop.

Livebox Play decoder: install

You have subscribed to Orange TV and you have just received your Livebox Play decoder. Here is the procedure to install your equipment.

Set up the decoder

Before you start

  • Check that your livebox is connected to the Internet.
  • Make sure that you do not use a telephone extension between your telephone socket and your livebox.
  • Position your livebox play decoder near your television due to the size of your HDMI cable.
  • Do not connect the mains supply cord before you have finished all your connections.

Insert the access card

Insert the TV access card (forward arrow and chip up) in the card reader located on the left side of your TV decoder.

Connect your livebox play decoder to your livebox

Ideally, it is better to favor an electrical connection of your livebox and your decoder on two distinct electrical duties.
If the configuration of your electrical installation does not allow it and requires the use of a multi-press, we advise you to electrically connect your Livebox to the first socket (the closest to the wall outlet) and your decoder on the second.

  • Connect one of the ends of your Ethernet cable supplied at the Livebox socket located at the back of your Livebox Play decoder.
  • Connect the other end of your Ethernet cable at the port 1, 2, 3 Or 4 of your Livebox.

Connect the TNT antenna to your TV decoder

  • Disconnect the antenna cable from your TV.
  • Connect the cable to the socket RF in Located at the back of your decoder.

TNT connection is optional. It allows you, according to your TV access, to optimize the quality of reception of the first channels and also, depending on your region, to receive local and border chains possibly available in TNT.

Connect your decoder to your TV

  • Connect one end of the HDMI cable on the HDMI socket Located at the back of the TV decoder.
  • Connect the other end to the HDMI socket of your TV.

If your television does not have a HDMI port, you can use a RCA cable while respecting the colors of the cable and outings of the decoder (yellow, white, red).

Check your HDMI cable

Make sure you use the HDMI cable supplied with the livebox play decoder.

Connect your decoder to an electrical outlet

  • Connect the decoder to an electrical outlet, if possible different from your other devices (Livebox, TV. ) to avoid electric short-circuits problems.
  • Connect the power supply to the socket located at the back of the TV decoder.
  • Connect the power supply to the power supply cable.
  • Connect the power cable to an electrical outlet.

Set up

  • Press the switch On Off on the back of the decoder.
  • Light your TV.
  • Select, on your TV, the HDMI channel to which you have connected your Livebox Play decoder.

Turn on your TV

Turn on your TV to continue the configuration (gray home menu or white home menu) .
