Uber, Bolt, Heetch: a historic but disputed agreement for a minimum rate

The new minimum rate is roughly equivalent to a race at 10.20 euros for the consumer. Not enough for some unions who rather demand the opening of discussions on the establishment of a price per hour and per kilometer

An agreement far from being unanimous. VTC and platform drivers unions agreed to impose a minimum rate of 7.65 euros per race. But the agreement which must be signed this Wednesday, January 18 is disputed among the trade union organizations in the sector where social dialogue is still stammering.

It provides for the implementation of a minimum income per journey from February 1. Only four out of seven unions have ratified it, including the Association VTC de France (AVF), which weighs 42.8 % of the votes. For Union (affiliated to the CFDT), the association of independent drivers Lyonnais (ACIL) and FO – 32.1 % to them -, it will be no.

Bordeaux: Delicity, an “fair” alternative for meal delivery

Established since September in Bordeaux, this Nice start-up presents itself as an “anti-platform”. It does not charge a commission to restaurateurs and offers better remuneration to delivery people

To a better rate of racing ?

This new minimum rate – which is roughly equivalent to a race at 10.20 euros for the consumer -, “will not change anything in the daily activity” of drivers, denounced Union. “Most” VTC “do not accept” small races “deemed not profitable in the face of the increase in fuel prices and traffic conditions,” said the union. At Uber, where the minimum income per race is currently 6 euros, we salute the agreement even if “many of these races were declined because not enough remunerative”, agrees Laureline Seyries, general manager of Uber France. According to her, this agreement “will lead to a better rate of racing for drivers and better reliability”. The volume of refused races could fall from 5 to 10 %, she says.

Economy France Themes Social Society

Union has deplored the absence of negotiations on a minimum income. The union calls for the opening of discussions on the establishment of a price per hour and per kilometer in order to “guarantee real profitability of the sector”, for example by paying off time. Since last May, the brand new authority for regulating employment platforms (ARPE) has been supposed to organize social dialogue in the VTC driver and meal delivery sector, very deficient in terms of social rights.

Heetch, the VTC which gives more to the drivers !

Apply lower prices for passengers should not be done at the expense of drivers. This is why we practice the lowest commission on the market (15% h.T. Against 25% H.T. At Uber, 19% h.T. at Bolt, 20% h.T. At Free Now). This makes it possible to offer more affordable prices for passengers while being more profitable for drivers. 75% of journeys are more profitable on Heetch than on Uber. On average, a driver will earn more than 1 euros more on a trip to us (€ 1.098).
