Google Translate
Google Translate (Google Translate in English) is a free service offered by the search engine to Internet users to translate a word, a sentence, a text or a web page.

Translation
A + 100 languages translation
Launched in 2006, this automatic translation tool, competed by Systeran (used by other search engines, such as Yahoo!) Deeppl or by Reverso, is available in + 100 languages. It is intended to allow Internet users to access more and more content on the Internet, even if they are not written in their mother tongue .
It is available on Translate.Google.com.
How google translation works ?
To develop Google Translation, Google first used bilingual dictionaries . But this approach, which required a lot of time and means, was abandoned in favor of the Statistical automatic translation. The search engine relied on the work of Franz-Josef OCH , Who today directs Google Translation . This linguistic researcher works on the analysis of millions of “parallel” data (from French to English, from German to Chinese, etc.)). For this, Google used the United Nations documents, therefore translated by human translators: the search engine therefore first proposed translations into the languages used within the United Nations (UN) Organization.
When is a Google translation in Breton ?
If this approach has the effectiveness and a certain precision in the translation for her, it does not directly access all languages and dialects because translations between two little spoken languages are rare. To go from Greek to Corsica, for example, you must therefore use English as an intermediate language.
And for some regional languages like Breton, it is still not available. Google has not yet raised enough texts already translated into Breton by organizations renowned to be able to offer it. His algorithms of machine learning need huge amounts of data to learn and reach a sufficient level to be made available.
What are the possible modes ?
- Text entry: just use your keyboard.
- Conversation: get started in a bilingual conversation.
- Photos: Translate text visible in images in another language.
- Visual translation: Use your phone’s camera to display instant translations.
- Handwriting: draw letters or characters with your finger.
- Hors connection: translate text, even offline.
How to use Google Translate
If the approach used to develop the Google translation service is complex, the use of the latter is very simple. Just add a word, a sentence, even a text containing several hundred words, in the box corresponding to the original language. You must then choose the language in which the word or text will be translated . It is even possible to listen to the pronunciation of the word to be translated and the word translated into certain languages . Google translation also delivers definitions of the word to translate and synonyms with the proposed translation, also in certain languages .
These indications are used to guide the user in his translation by offering him a panel of translations which he can use according to the given context. They make up the main gap of Google Translation, namely not to take into account the context or the different meanings of a word, and thus give imprecise translations, or even without tail or head.
Today, Google’s automatic translation service is used by more than two hundred million of Internet users and Translated in one day the equivalent of the work produced by all the translators worldwide in a year (or 1 billion translations, source friend singhal).
Why google translation does not work offline ?
The tool needs to question Google servers and therefore an internet connection. But there is a solution ! Just download (on your mobile) the languages that interest you, and it will work even without internet access. See the details below.
Unfortunately, on a computer it is impossible to use google translation without internet connection.

Why google translation is (sometimes) so zero ?
To translate from one language to another, Google exploits multilingual corpus, for example texts translated by the UN in the 6 main languages. When it has enough texts translated from the source requested to the target language requested, everything is fine. But when this is not the case, Google goes through intermediate languages and it gives bizarre results, even very bad.
Here are the explanations on video (by a person working for a human translation service):
