After the Megane E-Tech in 2022, and the Renault Kangoo in 2023, Renault is preparing several other new electric cars. R4, R5, but also scenic and utilities, discover what the French manufacturer is preparing for diamonds.
2023: The Renault Trafic e-tech, the last trendy utility rein
Very early on, Renault electrified its kangoo. It was in 2010, the Utility ZE especially equipped the fleets and the post office, but it was not until 2018 for a big brother to shoulder: the Master ZE, then renamed e-tech and existing even in hydrogen H2-Tech. The third and last member of the Utility range is e-tech traffic, the electric van in 2023. It will have 240 km of autonomy via a 52 kWh battery, a 120 hp engine and two versions of 5.08 and 5.48 m.
2024: The Renault Scénic goes to the electric !
The next Renault Electric car is not a new model, in any case by name. Because the scent Scenic survives the transition of the diamond range, under pressure from the Luca de Meo boss very nostalgic for current or retro names. But it will be a completely new vehicle. It takes the form of a 4.50-meter crossover, and will be the big brother of the Megane e-tech. The platform is common, the CMF-EV which also equips the Nissan Ariya.
It will recover the main lines of the RENAULT 5 prototype concept car unveiled in 2021, and the new CMF-BEV platform. The latter does not promise miracles, with 400 kilometers of autonomy, but much lower prices. As for a turbo version, it could be in the catalog, from Meo dreaming of seeing the R5 return to the World Rally Championship ! In any case, we already know that Alpine works on an R5 derivative for 2025.
The production of the electric R5 will start in 2024 in Douai, on the same site as the scenic. His cousin Nissan Micra will wait 2026, and we do not know when the Dacia version will land.
2025: the Renault 4 e-tech, the electric captur ?
Alongside the R5, Renault will launch another rebirth, that of the R4 or rather 4L. This electric Renault 4 will however not be smaller than the “5”, despite what its name suggests. The Renault 4 Ever Trophy concept car has shown it, this model is oriented towards a small SUV. If the R5 is a city car with sporting accents, the electric R4 should be the alter-ego SUV or Crossover, like Captur with the Clio. The release of this future Renault is expected in 2025, with an assembly in Douai.
2026: Flex-Van, the new generation of Kangoo utilities ?
If the new electric e-tech Kangoo has been book since 2022 and joined the concessions in 2023 for individuals, the new generation rings on the horizon. Renault has been experimenting with electric utilities for several years, via its ez-flex, which Mobilize has taken up under its wing with the Hippo project.
