The price of the future Dacia Duster will explode

The launch of the future third generation Duster is approaching more and more. Rumors linked to the price of the model have already leaked. Information that is not official. However, it will cost more than the current one, for sure.

Currently, only a very limited circle knows the price range in which the third generation of the Duster is located. Especially since he must become a pillar of Dacia. Xavier Martinet, the brand’s vice-president, argues that the future Dacia model will cost more than the current generation. “The new Duster should present a rate higher than that of the current Duster. The challenge that presents itself lies in this price increase, but the details will be revealed later, either this year or next year “ says the Romanian brand marketing and operations manager. The car will nevertheless keep the best value for money in its segment.

The price of the Duster continues to increase

Currently, the Duster is offered from 17,990 euros in France. The third generation of the model should therefore necessarily display a higher starting price, at least 18,000 euros. A too significant increase in the price could play against the automotive manufacturer and bring the price of its model from those of its competitors to the B-SUV segment closer, or even the C segment where the SUV aspires to penetrate.

Prices that are up

There is also an essential element in the evolution of the prices of the brand underlined by Xavier Martinet. “In 2019, our prices were 25 % lower than those of competition, and in 2022, this difference was reduced to 15 %. Currently, we believe that we are positioned somewhere between 12 and 13 % below. Thus, we remain between 10 and 15 % cheaper than our main competitors, a position that we are able to control and that we will continue to monitor. With new products planned for next year, notably the new Duster, we consider that the positioning of the new Duster will be decisive, because it is a product of major importance for our brand “.

Full-hybrid motorization

In addition to the intense modernization of its features and its entrails, it will be noted that the future Dacia Duster will use hybridization for the first time, that of 140 hp already broken by its little brother Jogger. He will also take the opportunity to get eaggered by lengthening a few centimeters from the old model, probably worth flirting with the 4.40 m long. The following year, in 2025, he will not be joined by a variant of about twenty centimeters longer, capable of embarking up to seven passengers.

Future Dacia Duster Prize

Resolutely turned towards electrification, the third generation Duster could also use micro-hybridized blocks (12 and 48 V), and associate them with engines operating with ethanol. A technological leveling that will probably see his entry ticket climb far beyond € 18,000, he who, a few years ago, asked less than € 12,000 at entry-level.
