How to install the Huawei E372 and E1831 mobile internet key connection manager on a computer operating under Windows 8?
Automatic installation
The automatic installation of the connection manager being able to the Huawei E372 and E1831 mobile internet keys requires some additional steps when your computer works under Windows 8.
- Activate the automatic installation:
- Open the Configuration panel (Control Panel).
- Click on Devices and sounds (Hardware and sound).
- Click on Autoplay.
- In the subsection Software (Software), open the drop -down menu and select Install or execute your media (Install or run program from your media).
- Click on OK (Save).
- Replace the “sticker” display mode with the “classic” display mode:
- Click on the sticker Desk (Desktop), bottom right of the sticker screen.
- Connect the Huawei E372 or E1831 mobile internet key to one of the USB ports on your computer.
- Follow the installation indications.
Manual installation
The manual installation of the connection manager always works in the same way under Windows 8:
- Connect the mobile internet key to a USB port on your computer.
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Launch the installation of the connection manager by clicking on the media corresponding to the key.
My Mac OS X 10.10 or higher does not recognize my LTE mobile internet key, what to do ?
- Download the Hilink file.zip.
- Extract the file Hilink.zip.
- The extracted file will contain a file Hilink. Click on this.
The computer may ask you if you want to install a different version of the application. If this is the case, press Yes.
Your Mac will ask you for your password to make the correction to your computer. Enter your username and password, then press OK.
Once the correction is made, the key will be recognized by your computer. The browser window will open on the next page, indicating that you are now connected to the Videotron network.
