How Dual Sim works on your iPhone ?

If your iPhone supports the Dual Sim, you can use 2 phone numbers on one device. Practical if, for example, you have a phone number for your professional calls and one for your private calls. Use Dual Sim on your iPhone

You have an iPhone XS (max), 11, 11 pro (max), 12 (mini), 12 pro (max), 13 (mini), 13 pro (max), 14 (plus) or 14 pro (max) ? Then the device is suitable for Dual Sim. You use a nano-sim card and a digital esim. On devices in the iPhone 14 series, you can also use 2 esim.

Tip 1: Check that your operator offers ESIM

Two physical nano-sim cards cannot be inserted into an iPhone. One of them must be a digital esim. Not all operators offer ESIM. The choice of supplier varies according to the country.

• Netherlands: Vodafone, T-Mobile, Ubigi and Simyo
• Belgium: Orange and Ubigi
• Germany: Vodafone, O2, Telekom and Trunion

Tip 2: Install an esim on your iPhone

You can install the ESIM card in two ways. Via a code or manually. This is also where you choose the number to use as default number. For that, proceed as following :

1. Go to “Settings” and press “Cell Data”.
2. Choose “Add an esim card”.
3. Follow the steps displayed on the screen.

** Be careful: ** You already have a configured esim ? Then insert a physical nano-sim card into your iPhone and follow the steps that appear on the screen. You have an iPhone 13 or more recent device ? So you can add a second esim.

TIP 3: Choose one number by contact

Now that you can be reached on 2 different numbers, choose the number you use by contact. The people you call will see this number. For example, if you have a colleague in your contact list, you select your professional phone number.

1. Go to “Contacts”.
2. Press a contact. You now see a screen with different sections.
3. Under the name of the contact, you will see the mentions “always use: principal” or “always use: secondary”. Press it.
4. Choose the right phone number here and press “finished”.
