Hiphi Y (2023)

The Chinese start-up Human Horizons has started to settle on the very high end with the X and Z. The trilogy is completed with the Y SUV, which will also be its spearhead for its establishment in Europe planned in a few months.

Crossover X, SUV Y, Z sedan, the triptych of Hiphi models is now complete. And the latest addition may be supposed to be the most affordable in the lot, he also does not present himself as an economic and compact model. The baby is still 4.94 m long and 1.96 m wide, for a minimum mass of 2305 kg in its small autonomy propulsion version and 2430 kg in 4 -wheel drive version large autonomy.

A fairly notable gap between the two batteries, since we go from 76.6 kWh to entry level to 115 kWh for the biggest capacity. The rear engine develops 247 kW, and for the 4 -wheel drive model the front engine adds 124 kW. The charging power remains for the moment not communicated. With its big battery, the Hiphi passes the symbolic course of the 800 km of autonomy, in CLTC cycle. In WLTP cycle for Europe, approval will be closer to 650 km.

The doors are also part of the particularities of Hiphi models. We certainly abandon the rear doors with antagonistic opening, but the Hiphi takes up the half-butterfly portes of the X, which also embark the custod glass and give off large access to the second row which has two large comfort seats.

The interior will be presented at the Shanghai Show on April 18, with all the details.

These two Chinese electric cars arrive in Europe, but beware of their consumption

The Chinese brand Hiphi slowly prepares its arrival in Europe with two electric cars, namely a sedan as well as a SUV: Hiphi Z and Hiphi X. And we now know their prices, which will not be within reach of all budgets.

Have you ever heard of Hiphi ? There is a good chance that not. However, it is also very likely that this is soon the case, since the Chinese firm, founded in 2019, is slowly starting to develop outside its native country. And like many other Asian manufacturers, Europe is targeted.

Already available

The firm, owned by the company Human Horizons is therefore preparing to market two cars on the old continent. This is’a sedan as well as a SUV, which take the name of Hiphi Z and X. Last April, she also lifted the veil on another raised model, rival of the Tesla Model X, which bears the name of Hiphi y. Not to be confused with the Model Y of the brand of Elon Musk..

If the manufacturer already markets his cars in the Middle Kingdom, here he is preparing to sell them also in Europe. This is what the site confirms ELECTRIC CARS Report, who announces that the two models are already available to order in Germany. A first showroom will soon be inaugurated in Munich Airport.

On its site, the manufacturer, which will compete head -on with Byd, Nio or Xpeng in Europe announces the prices of its two vehicles. And they will not really be within everyone’s reach, since the Hiphi Z, which is currently the cheapest of the range starts from 105,000 euros. A price valid in Germany, but which gives us a little idea of the one who could be practiced in France, even if the taxes will probably make it climb.

A price for the five -seater version, while the one can only accommodate four people is displayed from 107,000 euros, with its more luxurious seats.

For its part, the Hiphi X SUV is billed from 109,000 euros with its six places, again with our neighbors from across the Rhine. A price that increases to 123,000 euros in its four -seater version.

Watch out for consumption

With these new models, Hiphi hopes to make a place in the sun on the European market and rival a head -on with Tesla, who still hits so much with her model y. For this, the Chinese firm puts in particular on large autonomies, since its “Z” sedan, which should also hunt on the land of the Porsche Taycan announces no less 700 kilometers according to the Chinese cycle CLTC. A figure that drops to 555 kilometers according to WLTP approval.

For its part, the SUV promises to be able to Browse up to 460 kilometers WLTP, With its 90 kWh battery, against 120 kWh for the sedan. For comparison, the Tesla Model X announces a range of 625 km WLTP with a smaller battery from 95 to 100 kWh. Which implies Gargantuan consumption for the two Chinese electric cars.

The two models have an engine on each axle, with a respective power of 590 and 655 horsepower and a torque of 410 Nm. The whole then allows the two vehicles to carry out 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 and 3.8 seconds, which is more than honorable with their weight displayed at 2.58 and 2.54 tonnes.

These new models arrive in Europe with improbable features, like a refrigerator integrated in the rear central armrest, or even an LED strip on the side of the car to write messages or display emojis ..

Not so fast recharge

The Hiphi X SUV recharges In nine hours on an 11 kW in direct current, while the Hiphi Z sedan requires eleven for identical power. Rapid recharge seems limited to 140 kW of maximum power on the Hiphi X and 100 kW on the Hiphi Z. This is little.

Note that the two electric vehicles are equipped with the bidirectional load, which allows electronic devices to be supplied up. They are also delivered as standard with a heat pump that optimizes autonomy by reducing consumption.

For the time being, the exact date of the first deliveries has not yet been announced, but it shouldn’t be long. The two models will then be followed by the Hiphi y, Recently unveiled at the Shanghai Show. Orders should open during the year.
