Boost the WiFi of the Freebox Revolution

40 MHz (upper canal): allows you to use in addition to the channel 6, the 8 channels superior to the selected channel. Here I chose Canal 6 so I will use channels 6,7,8,9,10,12 and 13, 40 MHz between these channels.

40 MHz (lower channel): allows you to use in addition to the canal 8, the 8 channels lower than the selected channel. Here I chose Canal 8 so I will use channels 1.2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8, 40 MHz between these channels.

It is a slightly barbaric configuration because on other WiFi access points, including zyxel, this is not configured like that.

⇒ Remember if you opt for Canal 11, do not choose the 40 MHz (upper canal) option Freebox will make you make a mistake.

Bugs and solutions

It does not work

If you have chosen a channel of 1 to 7: Do not choose 40mh -lower.
If you have chosen a channel of 7 to 13: Do not choose 40MHz superior.

Regular disconnections

Always choose the least powerful channel of your neighborhood. The more wifi and parasitic waves, the more stability you have problems.

Avoid the default channels: 11 = All, 10 = Livebox, 8 = Numéricable, 6 = Free.

The new Freebox has 2 WiFi chips ::

an 802N on the band 2.4G
A 1200AC on the 5G band.

The two chips have the same SSID (network name) and default configuration parameters, which can cause random network losses without causing disconnection message.
