Download the Google Wallet app

To start using Google Wallet, download and configure the application.

Important : The Google Pay application becomes Google Wallet. If you already have the Google Pay app, you have nothing to download. The next time you open the Google Pay app, Google Wallet can be displayed instead, or you will be invited to access the Play Store to update the application. Once you have updated it, its name will become Google Wallet.

Required conditions

• To use the application, you must have a valid Google account, subject to age restrictions in your country or region. Certain features of Google Wallet can be subject to a specific age limit.
• Android devices equipped with Lollipop 5.0 or later can download the application. However, you must have at least nougat 7.0 to add or display cards, or to pay without contact. Find out how to update your version of Android.
• Google Play services and Google Wallet application must be up to date.

Remarks :

• The Google Wallet app does not work on devices in root mode.
• In addition, Google Wallet is not compatible with professional profiles.
  • If you have a professional profile on your Android device, you must use your personal profile in Google Wallet.

  Configure Google Wallet

  1. Open the Google Wallet application .
  2. Follow the configuration instructions.
     • When you open Google Wallet for the first time, the application invites you to add a card. You can scan your debit or credit card using your camera or enter information manually.
     • If you have already added cards, transport titles or tickets to your wallet with Google Pay, they should appear in Google Wallet.
     • You may need to configure screen locking on your Android device.
  3. To make contactless payments, make sure your phone complies with software standards, that it is equipped with the NFC, that it is activated and that Google Pay is defined as a payment application by default.
